A Bit About Us

Morning Fresh Diaries is a Yorkshire based, family run business that has been delivering milk to doorstep for many years.

Located in the village of Kippax, all our milk is produced by the local farm in Scarcroft who have a herd of Holstein Friesian cows. The milk is processed and bottled on site at the dairy and then distributed to the doorsteps of homes in:

Garforth, Micklefield, Aberford, Sherburn in Elmet, South Milford, Lumby, Monk Fryston, Hilllam, Burton Salmon, Fairburn ings, Ledsham, Kippax

Collingham, Linton, Sicklinghall, Kirby Overblow and Harewood

Are delivery days are: Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Fresh Cream

Double Cream contains no less than 48% milk fat. It is used as a pouring/spooning cream for deserts, can be whipped for piping onto cakes and pastries and also used in cooking.

Whipping Cream contains no less than 35% milk fat. It is used as a pouring cream for deserts, can be whipped for piping onto cakes and also used in cooking.

Single Cream contains no less than 18% milk fat. It is used in coffee and can be added to soups and savoury recipes. It is not suitable for whipping.

Milk

All are milk is pasteurise to ensure that it is safe to drink. In addition, with the exception of our standard whole 'Silver Top' milk all our milk is now homogenised.

Whole Milk is milk with nothing added or removed, the average fat content is 3.6%.

Homogenised Milk is milk with nothing added or removed, the average fat content is 3.6%.

Semi-skimmed Milk is the most popular type of milk in the UK with a fat content of 1.7%.

Skimmed Milk has a fat content of between 0.1% and 0.3% and as such nearly all of the fat (cream) has been removed.

Doorstep delivery

Why Doorstep Delivery?

Reduced Food Miles

All of our milk is produced at Beach Grove Farm there herd of Holstein Friesian cows. The milk is then processed and bottled at the on-site dairy, from where it is collected by the milkman and delivered direct to the doorstep. This means the 'food miles' are kept to the bare minimum and you can be assured that the milk you get on your doorstep is as fresh as possible.

Reduced Packaging Waste

When you return your empty milk bottles, they are washed, sterilised and scanned before being refilled for their next journey to the doorstep. Each bottle makes an average of 13 journeys before being recycled, unlike supermarket containers that make just the one journey!

Greater Flexibilty

If the children need whole milk and Mum wants skimmed, just order a pint of each. We are happy to deliver different combinations of milk on each delivery day. Although most customers have a standard order each week, if you find that you have too much or too little milk, just a leave a note out for the milkman and he will adjust your order accordingly.

Added Security

While you are tucked up in bed, you can rest assured that the milkman will be keeping a watchful eye on the area. He also knows when you are away on holiday and can report any irregularities to the authorities in your absence.

Top Tips

Always rinse you milk bottles out and put them out daily for the milkman to collect, rather than just once a week.

Please try to give advance warning of your changes/cancellations, this will save the milkman having to make unnecessary or additional visits to your house. You can email the office or use the Existing Customer Form, until 3pm weekdays and 11am on Saturday.

Please pay electronically if you are able to. We would prefer it if you did not leave cash on the doorstep for security reasons.
